You may have heard things about buying a home that are not true. You’re not alone.
Our Finding Home program starts with a simple meeting where you can ask us anything. We discuss what’s real and what’s a myth. Then we can explain what you can do to begin your path to home ownership and give you the tools to succeed. We create a road map for your situation -whatever that might be – to make you a future homeowner.
Marine Credit Union believes in the power of financial education and home ownership to create opportunities for financial stability and community growth. The Finding HOME program, offered through the Marine Credit Union Foundation, provides free financial education to individuals and families with barriers to home ownership. Successful graduates of the Finding HOME program earn guaranteed access to a market-rate mortgage that fits their budget.
Finding HOME is a free program, offered to anyone who wants the opportunity to own a home and feel financially secure. Its name comes from its four main tenets:
A personal financial literacy counselor helps you develop a customized action plan to navigate your course through the program.
Your counselor works with you to establish a savings plan that helps you set a budget and prepares you for home buying.
You spend between 12-18 months learning about finance topics that help you make better financial decisions.
Once you successfully complete all the program requirements, your counselor will help you find a home that fits your needs.
Connecting with a Finding HOME counselor is a free way for individuals and families to find their best path to homeownership. A household can schedule an appointment to receive a financial review to connect them to the best path to homeownership for them.
The Marine Credit Union Foundation is a non-profit corporation with tax-exempt status under paragraph 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
