Marine Credit Union Supports Feed My People Food Bank’s Farm to Food Bank Program Through Three-Year Truck Sponsorship
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — June 2, 2026 — Marine Credit Union (MCU) is proud to support Feed My People Food Bank’s Farm to Food Bank program as the official three-year sponsor of the initiative’s newest delivery truck, helping expand access to fresh, locally sourced food for families facing hunger across western Wisconsin.
As part of the partnership, MCU contributed $15,000 to support the truck, which has been in production since January 2026 and helps transport fresh food throughout Feed My People’s 14-county service area. MCU President and CEO Tom Knothe recently participated in a ride-along with the organization to witness the program’s impact firsthand.
Feed My People’s Farm to Food Bank program builds direct relationships with local growers to increase the supply of fresh, nutritious food available through hunger-relief programs across the region. The initiative supports local farmers, improves the nutritional quality of food distributed to families and reduces transportation-related emissions through regional sourcing.
The program sources fresh and culturally relevant food items—including produce, dairy products and other locally grown goods—directly from regional suppliers. Through partnerships like Wisconsin’s Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) program, Feed My People also works with hundreds of farms across the state to distribute food through its Eau Claire distribution center to more than 250 hunger-relief programs.
“At MCU, community means showing up and supporting organizations creating meaningful impact close to home,” said Knothe. “Feed My People deeply understands the needs of this region, and we’re proud to support their work in a way that allows them to direct resources where they can make the biggest difference.”
In addition to financial support, MCU team members regularly volunteer their time and partner with Feed My People staff to participate in community initiatives throughout western Wisconsin.
“What makes this program really impactful is the way it strengthens multiple parts of the community at once,” said Jeff Lachman, Director of Community Outreach at MCU. “Feed My People is helping families access nutritious food while also supporting local farmers and regional partnerships. We’re honored to play a role in growing that work.”
Founded in 1982 by six area churches, Feed My People Food Bank has been a leader in hunger-relief efforts across west central Wisconsin for more than four decades. Today, the organization continues to focus on collaboration and partnership to address food insecurity throughout the communities it serves.
