Marine Credit Union Foundation
Caring for Those in Our Community
Marine Credit Union believes a community thrives when all members experience opportunities for growth and stability. People with financial challenges need critical resources, tailored advice, and encouragement to build a better future. For over 70 years, Marine Credit Union has operated under these principles, which allow us to find solutions for individuals who may have been turned away elsewhere. The Marine Credit Union Foundation follows these same principles in our mission to make a positive difference in the communities we call home.
In May of 2018, the Marine Credit Union Foundation launched its Finding HOME program. Finding HOME is a financial literacy program for credit-challenged borrowers that grants home loans to participants upon successful completion of the program. Click here to learn more about Finding HOME.
To the people who work at Marine, the community exists as more than a place to live; it is part of who we are. For that reason, the Marine Credit Union Foundation was established as a way to give back.
The Foundation allocates resources, both financial and in-kind, to make significant differences in the communities served by Marine Credit Union. We have contributed time and financial support to fill urgent needs like community food pantries and building homes, educate children and support youth activities, foster cultural connections with community groups, provide emergency services for service organizations, honor our veterans, improve health, and so much more.
In addition to supporting local organizations, the Marine Credit Union Foundation commits to increasing financial literacy for both adults and youth. By participating in financial literacy projects and education, individuals can become better equipped to manage the financial challenges and opportunities they encounter.
Charitable giving by the Marine Credit Union Foundation is driven by the involvement and dedication of individuals and community organizations, as well as Marine Credit Union, its employees who contribute generously through payroll deductions, its board, and members. To make even bigger impacts within the communities we live and serve, all Marine Credit Union employees are given a significant voice in decisions regarding where to allocate Foundation resources.
We always look for ways to help the communities we call home and to find new opportunities to help support the causes that mean so much to you. If you have an organization you feel the Marine Credit Union should support, please contact us.
