We are excited to welcome Bent River Community Credit Union members to Marine Credit Union. As part of the integration with Marine Credit Union, many of your current products and services have been upgraded. Please review the following information regarding important dates and updates to your products and services effective February 1, 2018.
Below, you will find key dates related to the integration of your local branch and account. We thank you for your patience as we work diligently to ensure a smooth transition to Marine Credit Union.
- January 15 – 24: Marine Credit Union debit card(s) will arrive in the mail. Please activate your card upon receipt. Continue to use your Bent River Community Credit Union debit card(s) through February 1.
- January 22 – 26: Complimentary Marine Credit Union checks will arrive in the mail. Continue to use your Bent River Community Credit Union checks through February 1. Begin to use your Marine Credit Union checks on February 2.
- January 31 – February 2: Online and Mobile Banking will be unavailable from Wednesday, January 31 at 5:00pm through Friday, February 2 at 9:00am. ATM services at Bent River will be unavailable at this time.
- February 1: Bent River will be closed for a systems upgrade on Thursday, February 1.
- February 2: Please begin using your Marine Credit Union debt card(s) on February 2. Your Bent River debit card(s) will no longer be active at this time.
- February 2: Bent River opens as Marine Credit Union on Friday, February 2. Marine Credit Union Online Banking, Mobile Banking, and Phone Banking services will be available effective 9:00am on Friday, February 2.
Account Number Update
Your Bent River Community Credit Union member number will be transitioned to a Marine Credit Union account number. Your new account number has been mailed to you.
Direct Deposit and Pre-Authorized Withdrawals
There is no need to re-establish direct deposits or pre-authorized withdrawals; we will process all notifications on your behalf. Beginning February 1, please use the Marine Credit Union Routing Number, 275977489, when setting up any new direct deposits or withdrawals. Please contact us for more information on establishing electronic transactions.
All deposit accounts have been converted to Marine Credit Union accounts and automatically begin earning interest at Marine’s rates. You can find these rates at MarineCU.com/Rates. With your new Marine Credit Union account, you will receive competitive rates, easy access to your funds, access to new products like Money Market Accounts, and a safe, simple banking experience.
Free Checking + Interest checking accounts have been transitioned to our Better Than Free + Interest checking accounts. Enjoy all the benefits of our Better Than Free checking account such as no monthly maintenance fees, free debit card and four boxes of checks annually, free-e-statements, and more! Plus, you’ll earn dividends when you maintain a minimum balance of $1,000.
Free Checking accounts have been transitioned to our Better Than Free checking account. This non-interest bearing checking account offers all the essentials with no monthly maintenance fees, no minimum balance, up to four free boxes of checks annually, free e-statements, instant issue debit cards, and more!
Marine has issued checkholders new checks, which have been mailed to the address listed on your account. These checks include your new account number and routing number. If you currently have more than one box of checks in your supply, we are happy to replace those as well. Simply bring in your supply of Bent River checks, and we will reorder a similar quantity.
Debit Card holders have received a Marine Debit Card in the mail with a new look, card number, and PIN (Personal Identification Number). With your Marine Debit Card, you will continue to enjoy free ATM transactions through the Shazam Privileged Status Network in addition to no monthly or annual fees. If you lose your debit card, you will no longer need to wait for a replacement in the mail. We’ll issue you a new card instantly, right at your branch. Your debit card is a safe and convenient way to pay for purchases and comes equipped with EMV technology to provide an additional layer of security.
IRA Certificate of Deposits will continue to earn interest at the rate contracted with Bent River until the maturity date. If renewed, they will renew at Marine’s rates. IRA Savings will begin earning interest at Marine’s rates. You can find these rates by visiting MarineCU.com/Rates. In February, you will receive a mailing related to your IRA requiring signatures to update your IRA Custodian to Marine Credit Union.
CDs will continue to earn interest at the rate contracted with Bent River until the maturity date. If renewed, they will renew at Marine’s rates. You can find these rates by visiting MarineCU.com/Rates.
There will be no changes to loan original terms and rates. If you have an automatic payment, it will transition to Marine Credit Union. Beginning February 2, you can make your loan payments via Online Banking, Phone Banking, in-person at a branch location, or by mail. Mailed payments should be directed to:

Marine Credit Union has sent a separate letter with important information regarding your HELOC. If you have not received this mailing, please contact us at 563.391.2850.
Your existing credit card will continue to work. In 2018, the credit card program will be updated. You will receive additional information well in advance of any updates.
Online Account Access
You can continue to monitor your Bent River Community Credit Union MasterCard credit card online with MyCardInfo. This will allow you to check your card balance, verify when you made your last payment, review your statement history, and pay your bill online.
All Christmas Club accounts have been transitioned to Marine Credit Union. As part of that transition, account dividends will accrue quarterly, rather than annually.
As a Marine Credit Union member, you’ll enjoy enhanced electronic services. These electronic services, also referred to as E-Services, include Online Banking, Mobile Banking with Remote Deposit Capture, Bill Pay, and more. All members are welcome and encouraged to utilize these services beginning February 2, 2018.
To help you get started, please review the following information regarding Marine Credit Union’s electronic services including setup and usage instructions.
Current Online Banking user accounts have been automatically transitioned to Marine’s Online and Mobile Banking systems.
Username: Your temporary username will be your new Marine account number, which has been mailed to you.
Password: For security purposes, your temporary password will be e-mailed to you on February 2.
Beginning February 2, visit MarineCU.com and enter your temporary username and password in the Online Banking login area (found on the website’s home page or on the right side of this page) and click “Go”. You will be prompted to change your username and password to a selection of your choice and will be granted access to your account. If you do not receive an e-mail from us on February 2 with your temporary password, please contact a Marine Credit Union Member Representative at 800.923.7280. We will verify and/or update your e-mail address and provide you with your password.
If you are not a current Online Banking user, we encourage you to utilize this free service. Online Banking gives you 24/7 access to your accounts to check your balances, transfer funds, pay bills electronically, and so much more. To begin using this free, convenient service beginning February 2, call a Marine Credit Union Member Representative at 800.923.7280. Our friendly staff will walk you through the process of setting up your Online Banking account.
The Marine Mobile app gives you the freedom to bank on the go, wherever you are! This free app allows you to check your account balances, transfer money, find the nearest branch and ATM locations, and much more! To enjoy this free service, you must be an Online Banking user. After signing up and/or logging in to Online Banking on or after February 2, follow the steps below to access the Marine Mobile app:
- Visit your device’s app store (Google Play for Android devices and the App Store for Apple devices) and download Marine Mobile.
- Log in using your Online Banking credentials.
- You will be sent a one-time PIN for security purposes via the e-mail address on file. Once received, enter this to register your device and accept the user agreement.
Online Banking users have the ability to pay bills electronically, directly from your account using either Online Banking or Mobile Banking. Payments scheduled through January 31 will be processed by Bent River. Any payments made after January 31 will be processed by Marine Credit Union. Effective February 2, follow these easy steps to begin using Marine Credit Union’s Bill Payment system:
- Log in to Online Banking and click on the Bill Pay tab.
- If you’ve used Bill Pay previously, your payees since 03/31/2017 will be available.
- Follow the prompts to add new payees, click the “Add a Payee” button, and schedule a payment.
If you want to be notified when your account balance falls below a certain amount, a check has cleared, a payment has posted, or other important account updates, Marine Credit Union’s eAlerts are for you. To start receiving alerts by e-mail or text message on or after February 2, either sign up or login to Online Banking and complete the following steps:
- Click the Services
- Click the Continue button next to eAlerts.
- Select the enroll button on the bottom of the page.
- Enter your e-mail address or select a phone provider to receive text alerts.
- Click the Add Alert in the desired section (Member, Share, or Loan).
- Follow the prompts to complete setup and click Save.
Marine Credit Union offers Phone Banking to give you immediate access to your accounts without the need of an internet connection. To access our Phone Banking 24/7, simply call 800.444.5717. You’ll need your new Marine Credit Union Account Number and your full social security number. Once you are in the system, you will need to create a new PIN between 6-12 numbers long for future Phone Banking access.
All of your account notices and statements will be updated to our user-friendly format. You will receive your final statement, in paper format, from Bent River through January 31. All future statements will come from Marine Credit Union. If you currently receive e-statements with Bent River, you will automatically receive e-statements from Marine. If you would like to start receiving statements electronically on or after February 2, sign up for free, Online Banking. You will be automatically prompted to select your statement preference on your first login. Simply select “E-Statements”, confirm your e-mail address, and click submit to finish the enrollment process.
